Can Steering Wheel Controls be Added?

I currently don't have steering wheel controls on my truck, but my father does on his and I'm jealous. My question is... . Can steering wheel controls be added, or do I have to find another steering wheel with the controls?

I would guess it would be possible. I put in cruise on my 94 with the parts from the dealer. Don't expect it to be cheap though.

I would say you have to replace the steering wheel and then get ready to spend some $$$$$$$$$$

not worth it... 99% of the time is use the dash controls [old dog new tricks ??]

i love mine, not a must have item, but sure are nice to have. that said the retrofit probly is not worth the cost.

You need to have the premium controller (computer). This would be present on a truck with all the electronic goodies, doors, windows, trip computer, etc. The dealer told me I would have to change the wheel. Haven't got it completely figured out yet, but there is some evidence that the wiring loom will support the addition of the controls.

My truck has everything else, so I'm hoping that would just need the steering wheel w/ the controls and then plug it in, but that may just be wishful thinking.
