Well I found out for sure my new (to me) 02 has a Super Chips tuner on it. My question is I want to add the HOT Juice and need to know what to do (if any thing) about the already installed Super Chip Programmer. The previous owner wants me to PAY for the hand held tuner (bogus!) and I don't want to spend any thing if it won't do me any good...

No they won't stack well together. The tuner is worthless to the guy, because you have the program installed. Tell him to just return it to stock & you are not interested in buying the tuner. The superchips is vin sensitive & is no good to the guy anyways.

Ya I know... I bought the truck from a dealer, then I tracked down the prev. owner from the paper work. Guess he took it to hard from the dealer and wants every last penny he can get. If they won't work well together I'll just tell him to keep it, kinda makes me mad any way. Do you know how I remove what's already there?

Either get the guy to take the program off [which he is a idiot if he doesn't]or get the ecm reflashed. I'd call superchips & ask them if they have a master reset available. I don't understand why the guy wouldn't return it to stock for you, because the tuner is junk without the program.

If you can find anyone near you with a Smarty, they could return you to stock ECM really easily and you would get the latest software from DC.

I don't think that will work. It will not reprogram a truck that its not vin locked too. You need to tell the previous owner to remove the program and sell his tuner on ebay.

It should work with a smarty. Just vin lock the smarty to that truck and it should be able to program it to stock ecm settings.

One thing to remember is that I'm in Indiana and the original owner is in Texas. I can't just go to hiim and get this taken care of. He still hasn't given me a price for the hand held. I need to know what my options are all the way around so i can negotiate w/ him because I think it will be high. He already told me he has the original front drive shaft for it (rebuilt) and he would sell it to me for $350. He claims that's what he paid to have it all gone through. I told him the dealer already put one in but he won't budge on price. I'm thinking those parts will ROT in his garage b/c he'll never be able to use them but he want's every last penny any way... If I can get out of this Super Chip reasonable I'd be more than happy to tell him where to go...
