Any time you have a computer controlled device, it can be modified, with add on boxes, or reprogrammed chips. You're talking about advancing the timing of when the injection pump feeds the cylinders, and how much fuel it gives it at certain RPM's, or boost levels. That's how these boxes work. They are in fact remapping the timing of the fueling and how much additional fuel, to gain power.
Are they delivering as promised? You bet. And it will be different on each truck. We've seen that these motors put out varying power levels from stock, and the box adds to each accordingly. Plus, different drivetrains soak up different levels of power. Actual power increases may not be 100%, but I'll bet they are close.
Good example, I run DD2's and the EZ. I've run both individually, and feel the EZ makes more power at lower RPMs' than the injectors alone. They are rated at about the same HP, but not the same level of torque. The EZ is rated at more torque. That's because there is not fuel timing advance with injectors, but there is with the EZ. Now with the same scenario, the boost levels do not increase as fast with just the injectors. And after driving with just the DD2's, I thought the power was flat. Of course I had already adjusted to driving with the EZ and the DD2's. They perform as advertised.
I personally like the EZ with any upgraded injector, too a limit, of course. They work fantastic together, and I'll recommend it to anyone who asks my opinion or purchases anything from me.
As for the EZ, when was the last time you heard anyone actually pay $600 for one, they are much cheaper, just call and ask.
