Yea its aPlay on words... LOL. If it said that the belt matched the speed of the plane... . the plane would take of normal. and well u know the rest. .

So heres a way around your little play on words.....



All we need is a plane with enough power to accelerate the rotation of the earth under the athmosphere thus creating the necessary airflow over the wings without the wheels turning. Although, that would throw off the GPS navigation and cause the pilot to have to reset his watch

that will work. nice !!! but that would make wind and there is none. so... i think that might be cheating.

Actually the aircraft can take off once enough speed has been achieved even though the wheels are not spinnning

Im just giving u a hard time... i wonder if i edit in that this will be performed in a Vacuumed environment how many will still think the plane can take off?

Not much. I tried it once when I blew the intake elbow off my turbo. Had a vacuum in the intake the whole drive home and the power was sick.

A leaf blower would have been nice. Especially with a little shot of NOS! A naturally aspirated 5. 9 diesel just aint enought for a heavy pickup IMHO.

Imagine an airplane is on the beginning of a massive conveyor belt, as wide and as long as a runway, and intends to take off. The conveyer belt is designed to exactly match the speed of the wheels at any given time, moving in the opposite direction of rotation.

Under those conditions, no, the plane won't fly. Here is how the question should have been asked, and what the answer is. About halfway down the page. Sorry, I had to find the answer so I could sleep tonight. Unless I'm wrong.
