can u add a Factory power seat

I just bought a 98 3500 w/o a power seat. My 96 2500 has the power seat. Am I able to switch these. Is the wires already there for the for just pluging one in. I get the truck this saturday. I don't know if I cold live without the power.

You should be able to do this with little hassle. If there aren't any wires there, all you would need would be one wire for power (ground where the seat bolts to the floor) Dad has a 78 buick that didn't have power seat, so he found a power seat frame at the junkyard and switched the seat frames, then simply ran 12 volt power to it.

I am not sure. I pick up the truck in Minneapolis this saturday and then I drive it back home 1100 miles. I would like to switch the seat in my existing truck and have it recoverd in agate.

griff i looked into it , the only real difference is the seat base and the bottom cushion , and you should be able to swap the cover . i was going to do this on my 98 but traded it instead . if the wiring is not there it should be a seperate harness in the other truck and you should be able to move it , but if not there isn't much to it .

Griff996, you had better purchase the power seat track out of a wrecked Ram! The price on a new power seat track assembly runs $1350. 00 #ad
I know, as mine failed on my '98. 5 QC Ram under warranty. Can you believe that... a $360. 00 factory power seat option with a replacement power seat track assembly costing $1350. 00???? #ad
