Thats right you read it right. My 2002 truck was delivered to Phoenix on 8-16-01 at 1:00 p. m. I have been waiting for 6 days for it to be delivered to Las Vegas. Called my dealer again today to see if it was In. He stated that they had called the trucking company and put a red flag locater on it because they Can't Find it. Vin # and everything... Can you believe this sh!%! What next. .

that sucks

Rcpilotlv,

That has got to be the worst news you could get after all this waiting and tracking. I feel for you as I was about to go crazy waiting for mine. I hope it shows up soon so you don't have to keep going through this.

Good luck,

I feel your pain RCpilot, but hopefully they will "find it" when it just shows up on a transport truck in a day or so.

My '02 Ram 3500 has been in Salt Lake City since Monday, but wasn't "entered into their computer inventory" until today. That means it didn't get loaded on to a transport truck until today. The routing slip for the transport truck says that it now has to drive 150 miles from Salt Lake City to Delta, UT where it will drop off two vehicles. Then it has to drive 100 miles to Salina, UT where it drops off another vehicle. Then it has to drive 100 miles to Green River, UT where it will drop off two more vehicles. Then it does an about face and backtracks 100 miles back to Salina, and then on to Cedar City, UT which is another 150 miles away, where it drops off one solitary Dodge truck (MINE!). Then it drives to St. George, UT where it drops the rest of its load. Jeez, talk about a round about way to get here. It's only 250 miles from Salt Lake City to my dealer here in Cedar City, but the transport truck hauling my Ram has to travel 600 miles to get here. I wont see my truck until tomorrow at the soonest, possibly not even until Friday. :(

Hang in there, ... Mopar To You on this one.

When they do "find it", go over it with a fine tooth comb. The transport driver may have droped a chain on it, or any number of bonehead moves, and after the body shop is all done they will call.

I really hope it's just a mix up and it's waiting for you to pick up. Best of luck.

The *worst* news would be hearing that a lot monkey cracked it up in the yard. It *has* happened, you know.

YES! I can believe they lost it. My 97 took over 6 months from date of order to when my butt sat in it. Went via snail train after mexico assembled, got to Spokane and a somehow, bingo shipped to New York. Those yahoos were going to dump it in New York and leave me waiting for a new build etc, etc. My dealer went to bat and they sent it back. I was miffed to say the least and a letter to Robert Eaton indicated such. I reveived an answer but did not get me the pickup any faster. So I know the pain you are going thru but once it is over it is sweet to be in the drivers seat.

Man, I can only imagine what you're going through! :( You must be more patient than me - I'd probably find someone and hand him his a$$ on a platter:

488 miles and counting on mine - gauges going in this Sunday over at Grandpappy's! :D Only problem so far is that my 5 star dealer's make-ready group did not secure the right rear wheel hub cover when installing the wheel skins, so it disappeared. Drove in this morning to point out the problem, and they pulled one out of the Parts department and slapped it on - sounds like they've had this problem before, although I never lost one on my 1996 3500!

Best of luck with locating the truck - it'll be worth it when you finally get it. ;)

I used to be the *monkey* that checked in the vehicles. I wrote up 25% for damage. The other dealers in our chain wrote up about 3%.

Here's a tip. DO NOT ACCEPT YOUR NEW TRUCK UNTIL THEY FIX EVERYTHING YOU FIND. Inspect (including test drive) it before you sign the paperwork. If you do find something, don't sign until it's fixed.

Trust me, wouldn't you rather be driving your old truck wwhile warrantee repairs are done than renting a vehicle or driving a Neon? They will be more inclined to repair it fast and correct if you do this. They will probably balk at it, stand firm. It is in YOUR best interest to do it this way.

Hate to say this, but Yeah, They lost it. In the bodyshop most likely. That happened to my '93. Dealer called to say it was in, but when I called to confirm, they said "No, It's not in yet. Don't know who might have called you". Somebody had damaged it. I refused it. Go over that sucker w/ a fine tooth comb, like Extreme1 said. Take it off the dealer lot and look at it in different lighting at all angles. Crawl underneath or better yet take a creeper w/ you. Flat out ask the dealer. I beleive they have to disclose this type of thing. If they start hemming and hawing... ... well you know.

It's a bummer waiting on the thing though. Good luck.

Rcpilot,

I just logged on and re-checked the boards tonight, and after reading this thread I'll bet you're pretty bummed about now. I wouldn't give up hope to quick though, because the odds that your truck is innocently lost far outweight the odds that it is damaged and being secretly repaired. Hell, if you bought your truck from Nevada Dodge in Vegas they probably have it on their lot and don't know it.

My BAD BOY Dodge Ram showed up at my dealer tonight :):):). Your truck won't be too far behind. Hopefully when you call tomorrow they will have already found it.

You are able to see the check in sheet from when the trucking company delivered it to the dealer. (It should be in the deal folder that they keep) Any damage claims would be on there. It's a good idea to look the form anyway, most of the stuff I wrote never got fixed, just delivered & the owners never noticed. If damage at the lot exceeds a certain value ($1,500 in WI) they must notify you or they can't legally sell it as new.

Odds are it's in limbo somewhere. Ever see a lot at a rail yard? I'm surprised this doesn't happen more.

If you think the dealer might be pulling one on you, go and peek in the windows. My dad and I caught a body shop that was supposed to be repairing a dented rocker panel for the dealer we were buying a truck from. Turns out the "body shop" (no glass in the windows in December) drove it out on the ice and dropped it in!

Good luck, I'm sure it'll turn up OK.

Ok Guys heres the update, I got a call from the dealer late tonight and the truck has been delivered. Apparently there was a mix up at the rail yard and the truck was loaded and on its way here, however the trucking outfit misplaced the paper work and I guess thats when they couldnt find it:confused: Anyway, I got to look at it tonight and it looks ok... . I was not going to get it tonight because it was dark by the time I got to the dealership, and I want to take a careful look at the body as well as test drive her. Tomorrow it will be prepped and if everthing go's right I will finally have it!:) :) :) Thanks for the moral support, This has been a very tiring experience:rolleyes:

Rcpilotlv,

I'm happy to hear that it was just an oversight. Sometimes the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing, I think. My wife spied my truck in the back lot of the dealer early Monday afternoon. I figured I'd wait for the call from the dealer. Like I've said before, no information has ever originated from them. When I called on Tuesday afternoon, the fleet manager still didn't even know it was there, even after having claimed to have walked the lot that morning. When I drove by, it was still sitting there where it was on Monday, so it's not like it was in a bay or anything.

Well anyway, I took possession Wednesday afternoon :D. The song that's been going through my head the last couple of days is that Pointer Sister (I think) tune "I'm So Excited!". I didn't post about its arrival earlier so as not to get you more bummed, but it sound like things are working out for you now :).
