Can you explain how your ATS transmission shifts?

Edge Monitor/controller?

My t/q is shuddering, not far from a new transmission.

Please if you do not have an ATS transmission do not post. I do not want flames:)

I am really pleased with my ATS. It shifts pretty firm but not obnoxious. I could be wrong but I am guessing you could have yours set to shift for firmness like you want, I wanted mine pretty firm. It was a big step up from the stock setup for sure, when I have the box on and am layin into the loud pedal pretty good it feels like the truck is going to hold together now. Before I kinda felt like the power was there in the block but was getting lost in the truck and it would come apart. Lockup is real fun, full bore with my setup which is still kinda mild in comparison, I cant make the TC slip if I tried. Only thing I wouldve done different is do the Billet shafts, I think my upcoming bomb would've depicted it be a much smarter upfront investment :D :D

Same experience with my ats transmission. Shifts great and puts the power to the ground. I'd pick the same setup anytime.

My ATS setup is firm and shifts on-time.

Lockup of the Torque converter is adjustable and I usually lock it up when the transmission shifts into overdrive.

Nice!

I've had my ATS for over a year, and put 25,000 miles on it and it shifts great.

Firm, never shushy. Lock-up is great. Shifting locked is definitely quick--and safe, the way ATS over-builds the internals to handle shifting locked.

I'd go with ATS again in a heartbeat. Besides being a great product, they are a family-owned business and are great to deal with.

I didn't know about the Bellflower place when I got mine done. I went to Denver to have mine put in because I love to travel and was looking for an excuse!

But I know ANY good trans shop can put in the ATS Trans, either by installing an already rebuilt unit, or by rebuilding yours with the ATS upgrades. I have heard good things about the Bellflower shop.

Wherebouts in the Central Valley are you located?

I used to go up to Kernville with my sweetie-pie and camp at Camp James, on the Kern river! We LOVE that place, so I'm familiar with Bakersfield.

Clint might have someone there who can do an ATS rebuild. In a place of that size, with all the heavy-duty Ag. trucks around, there must be some good trans places. I know Clint's number is 800-949-6002 if you want to call him and find out.

I haven't been to the Kern in a couple of years though. I miss it!

I also believe Cummins Cal Pacific, in Ventura does ATS trannys, but I only heard it second hand, I've not asked them for sure.

I have been running my ATS for a year now and all I can say is that it puts a grin on my face (first smiley) and if I set it to lock up the TC as soon as it shifts into second gear at WOT well the second smiley says it all.

transmission shifts...

OK... My ATS setup shifts slightly harder than stock (the way I wanted it)... no noticeable slip. Timing is about the same as the stock trans. First, Second, Third, Third Lockup (feels like a 4th gear), and OD Lockup (feels like a 5th gear).

Absolutely NO slip when locked up, EVER! Speed for lockup is adjustable, and if I am putting my foot into it, 3rd to 3rd Lockup and 3rd Lockup to OD Lockup is a neck jerker. It really is putting the ponies to the ground.

I have played with the trans for about 35,000 miles, and have done slight tweaks here and there to get it the way I like. No problems with it from the shop, just playing around with some points. I'm just anal and like to tweak!

HIGHLY recommended from this end. I got my bulletproof trans, and it works like the stock one did, only ALOT better and a heck of a lot stronger.

Any questions, just ask. And yes, I still have that s#it eating grin everytime I get into it on the street! :D
