Can you run an 04 without a muffler??

Het guys, Moving into 04 land tomorrow, and i had a 98. 5 24v with a comp box,afe intake and 4 inch banks exhaust with no muffler. the truck sounded insane, and i need to know if its possible to do with an 04? Im getting an 04 HO auto, 3500 QC dually.

yeh you can do it with the 03-04 motors also. You will have almost the same exhaust sound

I have an 04 that I straight piped and it is a bit louder than my boys trucks (94 12V, 98 24V). I'll probably put an aftermarket muffler on after I tire of the noise

Muffler, whats a muffler Hehehe, im getting ready to say Buh Bye to the Resonator can and go to a single 5inch stack... just unfamiliar with the different types and styles of stacks, you guys happen to have any suggestions, im open to all. .

OH YEAH..... You can run the '04 without a muffler and it sounds sweeeeeetttttt. I took mine off about 2500 miles ago. I just turned 6,000 today and I have no thoughts of putting a muffler back on... . It's loud and obnoxious. It get looks all the time when running around time and those little mom and pop cars don't like the sounds of a cummins turbo diesel growling and snoorting in the ear when the windows are down. It sounds really good and it makes me smile everytime I hit the gas!!!
