Can you shut off antilock brakes?

Sounds like a good idea guys, but if you were EVER in a accident, with the ABS disabled, I don't think there would be enough money in the world to bail your butt out!



One of our guys unplugged the ABS light on the trailer (Light was staying on), he pulled into a scale in Illinois, got DOT'ed. They found the unplugged light, and nailed him with a $5,000 fine for tampering with the ABS system.



I think it would be ok for ABS to be off when off road, but on road?????????
