I either have never noticed or maybe at highways speeds there is just enough other noises that you can't tell it. But I am just curious if you guys can tell if another Ram is straight piped when it is by you on the highway, say 55mph plus. I have always been the one driving my truck and have never been around another that I am aware that is straight piped while it is running. Just curious as to what kind of impression I am leaving on others.

Thanks

Jon

How much louder in the cab is it? I have been thinking of losing the muffler and kitty. I don't want to increase the interior noise too much more, and with 4. 10 gears I turn pretty high rpm's on the highway. :D

I have heard many strait piped trucks buzz by me. I think it is pretty obvious. Usually once they see my A-pillar gauges, they usually make it very obvious:) .

I lost the muffler and left the resonator and I really can't tell that much difference in the cab. The trucks that I have been in that were completely straight piped you could tell it in the cab. I will most likely loose my resonator some time or another. :D

I can absolutely tell a straight piped truck when they pass me on a city street. Even a s/p'd DukeyPuke or PowerStroke :D At highway speeds... ?? I don't know. I rarely ever have anything pass me on the highway :-laf :-laf :-laf

As to in cab noise - I have a nasty drone between 1900 - 2200 RPM in my cab. I have even put a ton of the 1/2" GSI SoundStop super foam sound deadener throughout the cab, except for the headliner. It helps a bit, but certainly doesn't eliminate the drone. I ain't going back to a muffler, though :D

In the cab I cannot tell a difference when the wondows are rolled up vs. before I lost the muffler, I did leave on the resonator though. I like the whistle of the turbo, that is the only thing that is a little louder to me, but I also have a BHAF. I have to roll the windows down and be around something the reflects it back for me to even tell it is w/o the muffler. Thanks for your responses guys, maybe someday I will get another one alongside me. I would like to have a real sense of it. I am the only one who drives my truck and there isn't anyone I like well enough to let them drive it while I would ride in another vehicle. Well, maybe my brother and I was driving his Dodge diesel. Anyway, thanks again.

In the cab with the windows up, its not much louder at all. With the windows down I can hear more than stock. I have a straight thru Rip Rooks system 4". MOST people thinks it sounds awesome.

I have heard about the drone that can get unbearable, and mine had a little between 70 and 75 mph, but it seems to have gone away. I have nothing but positive things to say about my exhaust and the supplier I picked to purchase it from.

With the windows rolled up, you can't tell UNTIL you hit about 2000rpm. Then you get the dreaded drone. Not really that bad, but it does get annoying on long trips. It gets louder with increased load.
