Who's Has Duraflaps on 2nd Gen

Alright guys I have a friend with a 01 HO 3500 2WD DRW 6 spd with 4:10's, PDR 35 turbo AFE intake system edge EZ,4" exhaust with ehhaust brake, So Bend con OFE clutch and 275 injectors. He is looking to upgrade to the EDM Mach 2 100 HP injectors.

Can he safely run these injectors while towing if he (we) unplugs the fuel port leaving the only the boost wire pluged in?. I know there is someone out there that can possibly answer this? or are we just trying to re invent the wheel?

The truck is generally used to tow a 32' Alpenlite, and 14X8 enclosed behind it with a total (towed) weight of 19K.

Any EGT issues with the current setup? Other than high elevation or long grades I don't think there'd be any trouble... Once the bombs begin, you end up driving with one eye on the gauges most of the time anyway! Maybe check out the EDM Mach 1. 5 or 1. Perfect injectors

towing

you could tow all day at that. I have 2. 4's, drag comp, PDR35 14cm wastege and tow a TT. BTW I run my comp on 1X5 when towing

Ill tow just fine,i would keep the ez plugged in. Just watch the pyro,i think you will be happy, egts should be very manageable.

With my setup (see signature), I can hit 1350+ degF very easily towing our 16K GVWR 5th wheel with the EZ plugged in; max boost is about 34 PSIG. By unplugging the data link plug but leaving the EZ's MAP plugs and boost elbow intact, max EGT drops to about 1100 degF with a max boost of 30 PSIG.

Rusty, you can't GET it over 1100, or does it take longer to get there? Stock I could MAKE my truck go near 1300...

Stock, my truck would hit 1300 degF @ 21 PSIG boost. As I said above, it hits 1100 degF @ 30 PSIG boost with the EZ unplugged and the DD2 injectors. It's running 1100 degF even with the DD2s instead of the stock 1300 degF because of the extra boost (air flow).

For reference, with the EZ plugged in, running with stock injectors, BHAF and Jardine 4", maximum EGT when towing was 1100 degF at around 30-31 PSIG boost. It jumped to 1350+ degF when I added the DD2 injectors. I also slipped the stock clutch - that's why I unplugged the EZ's data cable so that I could run with the DD2s until I could get the Con OFE installed. As I said, with the DD2s and EZ's data cable unplugged, max EGTs when towing fell back to 1100 degF @ 30 PSIG boost.

Sorry, I was perusing the posts too quickly, my bad. Also, I was convolutedly asking if the EGT will still climb above 1100 if on a long ascent, or is that pretty much the worst case scenario?

Bob

Your a funny guy!!!!. Hey I thought when I posted the weight that Harry was pulling the "load patrol" would have jumped right in.. So from what I'm hearing from you guys it sounds like Harry can get away with not only running the Mach 2's but he can also leave the box pluged in.

Thanks guys.

Do all the time. It is nice however that the comp is able to turn off if needed. But it most of the time at 1X5 for tow and watch EGT's

Pat,

Thanks :D . Harold has talked to so many people now he is afraid to do anything :( . He will stay with his ez-275's.
