Dodge Ram pickup trucks recall
Jun. 10, 2002
In Canada, DaimlerChrysler is recalling about 13,000 Dodge Ram pickups to replace a fitting in the engine compartment. The fitting could corrode from road salt used during the winter. Affected vehicles are 1997-1998 Dodge Ram 2500 and 3500 pickups with diesel engines. Dealers will install new fittings with improved corrosion resistance.
Chrysler also is recalling 5,900 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 pickups because of a potentially weak weld on a rear axle bracket. The recall affects only four-wheel-drive models built before November 2001. Dealers will install a reinforcement bracket on the affected vehicles.
For more information, consumers can call DaimlerChrysler at 1-800-465-2001.
