Canceled Order, Found 04

I canceled my order on my 04. 5 because my dealer found me an 04 3500 QC 4X4 DRW 6spd 305/555 with 3. 73 SLT

Its all black. . I have never owned a black truck. . I had a 98 Cobra vert Triple black. It was a pain to keep clean but looked great when it was. .

The truck was a dealer locate about 250 miles from me. With about 300 miles on the clock the MPG is at 15. 4 and rising

Now its time to get the parts for my stacks. . One thing I did notice is that the 04 doesn't have a resonator, anyone know why?

You mean CAT. Less emissions on the 04's

My 02 H. O had a resonator, this one is a straight pipe from turbo to muffler. . I know the 04. 5 has a CAT, I was just surprized that the 04 had neither.

Sledneck, I did the same thing and am glad that I did. I pretty much everything that I had ordered and Tom Chaney gave me an AWESOME deal on my 305hp. I'm getting 20+mph if I keep it around 60 and only have 7,000 miles so far. I really like my truck and am VERY glad that I got what I did. The 04. 5 are great trucks as well but I do to much driving to risk the chance of getting one of those low mpg engines that seem to be rather plentiful in the 600's. Good luck on everything and I'm sure you'll love your truck as much as the rest of us guys love ours!

A coworker of mine has a new 04 with a resonator, not a cat. He asked me why my 04 doesn't. I have no idea except mine is a shorty and his is a long bed.

Mine is a swb and dosn't have one. I say his is a cat converter. That is the main reason why I am glad I got the 04 over the 04. 5!
