I am steaming. I have been reading of all the problems with the G-56 and the hold. I had originally ordered my truck in Feb. Well I went and bought a NV5600 from Tomeygun because I wasn't willing to wait or take a chance with a evidently faulty product. My original dealer told me they will not refund my deposit but that I could use it for parts or labor for up to one year. What do you guys think my options are? A letter to DC is a given. A dealership that will rip me off for 1000 on a truck they can't deliver I sure don't want to trust them with my new truck.

Suthers ,

Consider it a blessing that you found a truck with a NV 5600 . Even if say you were to loose your $1000 , which you won't ,you are way ahead . Who knows how many problems you would have encountered with the

UNPROVEN G-56.

Deal only with DC AT THIS POINT.

I am actually happy for you , smile man ,no anxiety attacks over what might happen with the new transmission .

Things happen for a reason , just try to get your money back while keeping in mind how much better off you are .

:D

A "deposit" is "good faith" money isn't it?

The salesman is trying to keep your "good faith" money as commission ... ... ..... hunt him down like a dog!! :D

What are the written terms of the deposit agreement you have with the dealer? You must have gotten something in writing when you handed over the deposit money.

right of refusal

wow! if they want to play like that have them deliver it, then refuse it, the deposit should be refunded in full. just like if your credit wasn't approved. i would call the better business bureau too.

good luck.

They have a line that says deposit not refundable right above our signatures on the bill of sale.

Kind of stinks that they couldn't and cannot deliver my vehicle and I am supposed to wait for however long it takes or lose my money. Nope, I don't think so. My salesperson even told me there is no hold and no problems with the G-56. So everyone on here is misinformed according to them. I will be on DC real heavy to try and get this resolved. I hope DC forces them to do the right thing. If not lesson learned... . always use a credit card.

Hell just go down on the next weekend walk around the truck lot and tell the future customers what a rip off the dealership is in front of the salesman. I'm sure they'll get things right for ya. It worked for me at a Ford dealership a few years ago.

Doe your state have a small claims court? file against them for breech of contract for the refund for failure to deliver the vechicle in a timely manner.

Make a display sign for your truck bed, huge sign, and say truck has been on hold since February and deliver is reducing to refund the despoist. and Park right in front of the lot. A hugh sign.

Send us the Picture with Dealership sign in the back ground, and one to the local news too, maybe call the local news boys to come out and take a photo or two.

Did you specify a time frame the truck is to be delivered within (example 3 or 4 months)?

If so, you have a leg to stand one, but there may be an little know consumer protection law in your state that may state some "reasonable" time clause for products and services delivery.

Also a very effective method is to contact a local news consumer "investigator". These small market news orgs. love a "big business screwing the little guy" story.

Ask Tommygun and/or Mark on this board to send you something stating the delay and cancelation of 6-speed diesel orders, then go to the manager/owner of the dealership ... the salesman.

DON'T WIMMP OUT ON THIS. You will get your $$$ back because Dodge canceled the orders so it cost the dealership NOTHING!!

Or, PM many TDR members and ask them to go shop there. Right up to the point of saying yes/ putting money down. Then they should tell the salesman that they know you.

fox has a great idea, talk high sales, let create high pressure customers.

who the sales re that ____our friend.

You probably should not have signed any purchase agreement/order with that statement on it. Hopefully you were smart enough not to drive your new CTD into the dealership and ask for a refund...

That being said... . Stay calm... Go directly to the sales manager... Explain to him why you canceled your order (G-56/ hold / etc)...

If he still balks tell him that you will be writing Chrysler, filing a complaint with the BBB, and may have to pursue the issue in small claims court (all while "staying calm"). Might do some good to tell him you will be posting his dealership name on the forum, and will call the local TV/Paper and talk with their consumer complaint department.

If you make yourself a big enough problem for them... they will refund your deposit. If not... Go for the BIG SIGN, and park in front of the dealership. If you do get a refund you better find another dealer for service... :D

Post the name of the dealer, the phone number, and the e-mail address of the sales manager here so people on this board can start flooding them with e-mail messages and phone calls. That is nothing but a rip-off. I don't know how these people look in the mirror in the morning when they shave.

What ever happened to not keeping what you didn'y earn?

I guess they dont believe in that, IF I tried to keep a deposit on a truck that I ended up not selling, My boss would MAKE me refund it... Its just not good business to keep what you did not earn

I'd just go down there to the dealership and load up on accessories, i. e oil, filters, a spare lift pump, ect... Your going to have to buy it eventually anyhow. Then do all the BBB stuff after the money has been spent.

See what the return policy is on parts. If there is no or very small restocking fee, then take the $1000 in parts and then return them the next day for a cash refund. Just don't get any elec. parts they don't like to take them back. Also see if they will match another dealers prices on parts. If they do , get Tomeygun to fax you a list of stuff you want with a good discount and make them match it. Talk to the parts manager before you agree to the $1000 credit but don't tell him what you are doing. Get him to tell you the policy before hand.

You guys are soooooo devious!! No wonder I like the TDR, bunch of guys after my own heart.

Don't let 'em rip you off. Get the parts, keep what you want, and take the rest back for cash!! At least you will get some of your money back
