canola in the tank

The latest TDR has an article wherein the writer claims to have poured a gallon of canola oil into his truck. But according to Bosch that should cause carbon build up on his injectors.

Last I checked you are supposed to esterize the canola with methyl alcohol to avoid this problem.

Was he serious??

I looked into Biodiesel af ew months back in the hopes of running it in our equipmetn at trade shows. From the Bio-deisel page, I found a company that sell a product called Soy-Gold. It is an additive. We also have the Hood River County using bio diesel and thy says it works fine.



I would not take a bottle of it and throw it in there though. There is a formula for making you own and that can also be found at bid-diesels site.



I had hoped to have the Popocor smell at the trade shows, but it really doesn't give you that sweet smell.

Maxima 927

I wonder what Maxima 927 two stroke oil would do. I love the smell of that stuff, but I know it carbons up the power valves in my KDX, and it may do the same to the injectors..... but what a cool smell racing castor makes when it is burned.
