If I hold my brakes and build boost when I let go I smoke 1st and 2nd gear out. How ever I broke my output a few weeks ago so I dont power brake anymore.

I can't do one even with the tst on either but next weeks stage V ats transmission should hopefully solve my problems. I dyno'd at 425 hp with the tst also. it just doesn't load up the turbo to make boost. It only builds like 5 psi at WOT and brakes holding it from rolling.

I dynoed at 489 without my ATS. I was still able to break them loose whenever I wanted. Now I have the ATS stage 5 and It definitely will spin them whenever I mash the GO pedal. I just went to the 1/8th miles the other night and decided to try to run in 2 wheel drive against a Dmax 2wd reg cab. Needless to say I spun to the 330' mark through 3rd gear. I will never launch in 2wd again unless I am running a slick. I figured once it started spinning I might as well put on a show for the crowd.

Mine will, even in 4WD, but I try NOT to do them as tires are AWFULLY expensive! And a Chrysler enginner told me the shock load from such activities is the toughest trauma you can give your drivetrain. That's WHY they program the computer to try to eliminate your ability to do burnouts!

Exactly. It won't load the motor.

You had me curious so I went outside and tried... . Tires spun creating major smoke. I was a little over half throttle and I am bone stock.

Yo Hoot No probleme doing burn outs with my 35 1250 18 Toyo MTRS just set TST on 6 - 6 and EZ on 2 go at least 15 ft. burnout and then shifts to 2nd and then your gone. WILDMAN

This might be the right forum to ask...

When you refer to 'burnout' it is obviously meaning "spinning the tires" to smoke 'em. On the new trucks thier is a line item in the sticker stating *anti- spin differential. *

Is this a generic term for Posi- Traction differential (i. e. not an open rear)

or does *anti- spin differential* means (as was refered to in a previous post) as 'torque managment system' synonimous with "anti- spin" capabilities?

I cannot even 'chirp' my tires; Is this because I have an "anti- spin differential?"

(I am baby-ing the new truck :D )

Open diff= maybe just one tire doing the burn out

Limited slip/anti-spin= means both rear tires should be spinning.

Same result, if you had a spool, or welded the gears in the diff. Difference is, that the LSD/antispin, unlocks for normal driving.

I can break my duals loose a little on dry pavement. Wet, I can break them loose at will. :D

Mine will bust 'em loose on dry pavement with a big squack by mashing the go peddle with box on 6. With a foot planted on the brake and 10 lbs of boost, let off the brake and floor it, they roast like a thanksgiving turkey.

Wet is another story, truck is almost dangerous. I've got 265/70 BFG AT(not bald either), and the hindquarters are sideways if you don't drive like your grandmothers grandmother. Can't wait for a turbo and tst!! :D

The reason alot of 04. 5 and 05's cant hold the brake and spin the tires(burnout) is the torque management system. Having alot of experience with this I have found the problem to be the solenoid activated waste gate. The problem can be cured with a new turbo,i really enjoyed my jammer, or by installing a tighter torque converter.

I could probably do better, but since I didn't go with billet shafts, I won't go over a 5# launch.

just drove the truck home with the ats stage v package installed man does this thing rip now. Shifts are firm and the converter locks up and holds now i got to get the TST back on the truck and go for a "real" ride. Maybe i'll get some pics of the results of how the tires like it. :)
