Can't find source of oil leak, any suggestions?

I have a small engine oil leak from the left front. It is so minimal that no oil is needed between changes (around 10 -15k miles).

I guess it has been leaking quite some time. The crank position sensor was so gummed up it was barely recognisably.

I thought the pan gasket was leaking so I tried to tighten the bolts, but none were really loose.

Any ideas to what may be the source? I did have the Dodge dealer replace the water pump in 3/10. It could have been leaking since then, but where?

when you look under your truck, on the L side is a black tube that hangs down that is usualy wet with oil... ... mine does the same... I thought i had a leak also... I thought about putting like a plastic bottle on it to catch some of the oil... but never did... I always wipe down after an oil change

I see that, it looks way too far back tho.

The leak seems to be right under the fuel pump (CP3) on the front of the motor.

The bottom of the pump is clean. The left front corner of the motor.

Pull the fan support off and check the top of the timing vover where it seals to the block. Bet it is starting to seep somewhere high and runs down. Thats what mine did.

Fan support? How hard is that? Does the belt have to come off? I don't think I'm capable of that real hard stuff.

Yes, 4 bolts and the support plus pulley comes off the block. Of course, this is after pulling the fan, shroud, and belt.

Put some oil dye into the engine, run it for a day, then check for leaks with a black light.

Mine seems to be leaking around the Timing Cover Housing Plate!!

Not 100% sure yet ,,but under side is covered,,blowing back from some where??

Is this gasket hard to replace??
