I discovered that my toolbox is to high to clear my 5er and need a different one.

I am looking for the type of box that fits inside the bed width and is only like 12 to 14" high to mount ontop of my aux fuel tank. I need it to be alum checker to match what I have now , does anybody know of where I can find this critter?

weatherguard

Whit-

I just purchase the Weatherguard over the rails single lid and love it. They are pretty spendy but the quality is bar none. Big R carries the brand and will order any model you like. I ordered my out of Cheyenne. Check this out and scroll down to model 664:

how do you like the stacks?

Jason

Looks like a good one Jason, Is that the same one you had on your rig the other day when I was down there, I still dont see anything that will work for me but am still searching. :)

:D :D I love my stacks :D :D they sound great too

I found what I need but they want 495 clams:{ 5th Wheel "Partner Box"

Now, extra storage with easy access, a commodity in RVing. Here is a box we came out with in the early 80's. Long before the others even thought about them. You have to keep the rear of your pickup pretty much obstruction free in order to hitch up to your 5th wheel trailer, right? This box, mounted just in front of your tailgate, is 10 1/2 inches tall which is the perfect height to allow your 5th wheel trailer tongue to travel over it into the hitch mounted in your pickup. http://www.800toolbox.com/5thwheel.htm

Its the partner box

Are you sure that was me?

Call Big R or Weatherguard direct and see where a dealer is. Big R cut me a deal and gave me a sale price cause I was ordering. My box is the 127-5 and I love it. If I ever get a digital camera I will post some pics.

Try American Tank in Dallas. Every thing they have will not extend above bed rails/ less than 19" tall, Tool Boxes, tanks, combos ... ..... They have more than whats on web site and can cusom build

Highway Products

Kevin,

You might want to check back with Highway Products because they can also build you a box based on your dimensions. I live near their plant and I've purchased a few over the years... IMO they're the best-period.

If you have a box already, and the height is the only thing wrong, you might want to consider just having an aluminum welding shop in the area cut the bottom off and shorten it. It would probably be a lot cheaper than buying or having a new custom box made. Barney's Welding there in Lander, WY is a pretty good shop and we have him weld anything and everything on a regular basis. He is constantly working on those aluminum horsetrailers that get shaken apart. I also would think that there are a bunch down in the Rock Springs area due to the oil field stuff.

I am considering ordering a brand new toolbox/tank combo 60 gallon unit from Northern Hydrolics, I am waiting on info of where all the plumbing ties in at , I hope its on the drivers side, if so than I will buy it and then I plan on using the aux tank as my main feed to the lift pump , this way I will have a positive head pressure to the oem lift and not a vaccumn like the oem setup, I will then use the oem tank as extra fuel and use my transfer pump on it to fill the bed tank.

Jason, I was thinking of MMclain in GreenRiver

Oilape- I would do that except I have the toolbox that fits ontop of the bed rails .

Whitmore,

Acess Cover makes a toolbox that fits below the tonneau cover. That sounds a little lower than you planned on, but it should be low enough for your fiver!
