I got my new clutch installed about 700 miles ago and as of this past weekend something changed. After I have run the truck for about half an hour, it gets very hard or darn near impossible to get into 1st, reverse, and sometimes 2nd. I can make it better if I shift while slightly rolling, but this isn't always possible. Up until now it felt like stock when shifting into these gears. I did notice that the clutch engagement point shifted towards the floor with the new clutch, but you can still hear the motor grunt when you let the clutch out in neutral even when the thing won't go into gear.

Does the transmission fluid get changed with a clutch change? When my truck was new it went into 2nd very hard when cold until the dealer put some special lube in the transmission. Maybe I need this done again.

If this makes a difference, I had the flywheel resurfaced and the shop said that no shims were neccesary to make up the difference.

Thanks, Dan.

Good to see you got that clutch in to put all that power to the ground. As for why it would start doing that, hmmm. Lemme see, shooting from the hip I would suspect the slave cyl. Either it is reaching it's full stroke or something was done to it during the install. I know that these Hi-Po clutches get grabby when they are warm. So it may not be fully dis-engaging (almost sure that's it). That's keeping your input shaft spinning making it harder to get into gear. I know this has been brought up before. I don't think your transmission is the cause of this problem. Maybe some other ideas will be thrown out here. I just can't think of anything else that would be likely right now. Hope I helped.
