Archived Can't pull codes from 98.5

I've tried the on-off-on-off-on that's supposed to do the trick but I get nothing in the odometer but milage. I've done this before with my 98 Neon so I know the proceedure, but my truck just won't show codes.

The on and off three times when into effect on the 2000 and up or the 99 model year I don't believe it dates back to your truck. You will need a code reader.

Unfortunately the 98. 5's wont show it you have to use a scanner. most auto parts have them for rent ( usually a deposit and a full refund when returned). hope this helps.
