So with the help of those who responded to my last post, I removed the starter but I can not seem to get the crankcase position sensor out of the block. Of course it broke off. There is still some plastic to get hold of but I can't seem to grip them with the pliers. I soaked it in penetrating oil & will try again tomorrow. Any ideas on how to get one of these out?

Thanks in advance.

It took me a LONG time to get mine out, I think the oring just gets stuck to the block. I just kept trying to move it and it finally started to loosen up. Karl

Mine too was VERY hard to get out, it finally worked out though. I belive there is a core charge on that too, I think it was for like $30. GOOD LUCK!

Cps

Mine came out awful tough as well. I kept working it back & forth & then finally it came out. FRUSTRATING to say the least. There was no core charge either... At least at the dealer. Watch the pricing though. I paid $80 at one dealership. Another wanted like $120... . Buyer Beware!

Good Luck.

Thanks guys, but I have to admit that I gave up. I know when I'm beat. After two days of laying in the snow & mud breaking tiny pieces off I decided that I would pay anything to have someone do this for me. I took it to a local mechanic & it took him 2 hours to get that thing out. He only charged me $90 & I only paid $30 for the sensor so for the price of buying one from the dealer I got it installed.
