I dirve a stock 2002 eth dee. see below. For the life of me I can't get the beast to chirp relaibly on dry asphalt. I've done it only once rolling in 2nd. I tried it again last night and am pretty sure my clutch started slipping. Is it possible that I have too much traction and it causes the clutch to fail? What suggestions do you have apart from performance upgrades( like to keep warranty for a little while at least).

Try this instead, lots easier on your drivetrain...

Rolling in third gear, clutch out and RPMs above 1500 - start a 180 turn, as you get about halfway nail it. At that point you can spin in circles while creating GOBS of tire smoke.

Don't blame me if you get arrested :D

Don't do this in a confined space - DUH!

It's a hoot :D :D :D

A little off topic, but on our last trip we were towing our 13,500 lb 5ver back home in the rain. Every time we would take off from a stop, I was getting wheelspin in 2nd, 3rd and 4th when the boost came on. :D My wife didn't think it was funny! ;)

Don't burn yer clutch tryin either cause I saw a rammer "Show off" with a Six speed and he thought the tyres were bakin' ..... wrong!!! guess who needed a clutch after that one. Man the Stink was bad!

Gosh, I better go try it right now.

I had just started chirping my tires at will--before I got the UFM. It wasn't a problem with 58,000 miles on a 235hp unit.

I've only tried a couple of dry pavement burnouts with the UFM. Definitely get the wheelspin;), but am waiting on the new clutch before I really do a PDR-style light 'em up.

Heh, nothing a little power won't fix. The white Dodge, while it's an auto, will light them up in 1st, 2nd and chirp 3rd. The blue one - fuggetaboutit. :D

Piers can do brodies in confined spaces. And surrounded by a crowd of people! :D

My first comment is what does it take to make an ETH spin both tires on dry pavement when you shift into 3rd and roll on the throttle as boost comes on. I am not talking about popping the clutch but rolling on the throttle in 3rd or 4th. As for the first guy who wanted to spin his tires I have 2 things of advice. If your truck is equipped with a posi unit you will fry it doing burnouts and spinning the tires. With that said it sounds like you don't really care about little details of things so I say try this. place your right heel firmly on the brake then place your right toe firmly on the throttle then proceed to dump the clutch. Make sure you rev it up to about 2200 rpms b4 releasing the clutch. One the tires start spinning let off the brake slightly but not enough to let the truck roll forward. This I am sure is the recipe you will need for guaranteed wheel spin.

If all you want to do is spin the tires on dry pavement, put er in 1st, hold the brake and slowly let out on the clutch. I can sit a a light, and at idle the tires are spinning on dry pavement (a little oil on the road at the intersections may help a little, but is also can give the illusion that your clutch is spinning--my first time I thought this was the case )

It seems to impress the 1/2 ton crowd (power brake'rs) They do a double take to see the rear tires turning and the truck idling away :--)

could u eleborate on this. i know in a regular diff with spider gears u can weld them fast to the pinion shafts due to only one tire spining because it causes alot of heat because in the difference of speed of the two. just wondering.

Careful gang powerbraking Powerbrake=fun Divided by Broken output shaft = Frickin' MAD! Seen it Three times Twice people Powerbraking ... Once a Simple launch dragracing. Theese shafts are weak.

Me I Roll out a burner then squeeze the brakes (in anotherwords the tires start to spin then I squeeze the brakes then the truck sits for a seccond shifts third and off the brake I go to a smokey 4 strip pic like above)

I've impoersonated Sled Puller Twice by destroying the DANA 80 "Spyder gears".

When I was factory stock,, the only way I could spin 'em was like so.

Stopped,, In 2nd gear, clutch depressed fully,, romp it to Governed speed, then let the clutch out fast. Don't hit the brakes. or POW, something will go.

If you want to stop,, say,, for a "Burnout" do they same as before,, but have the wheels turned ALL the way to the left or right,, each truck will do donuts better in a certain direction,, MY truck does the best donuts to the left.

From stop, turned fully to the left,, clutch fully depressed, WOT to Redline,, Let clutch out FAST ya need to nearly "Pop" it to keep it from slipping (Stock Clutch) Once ya do about a 180*ya can start pushing the brakes a LITTLE,, and when you feel the truck kinda stop with the forward momentum,, ya can get on the brakes enough to stop the forward movement of the truck. Listen to the motor,, and feel the truck to get the right balnce of brakes,, too much brakes and the motor lugs/Brakes Overheat, too little brakes,, and truck rolls.

Once you have been "Burnin' Rubber" for about 5 seconds, there is a ALOT Less traction out back,, and the rear brakes are allready warm enough to not work all that great. After 45 more seconds it probably won't be to hard to sneak a "TimTheToolManTaylor" Type 3rd gear burnout.

On a side note,, it's NOT because your truck doesn't have enough power, it's because the computer delays power until there is enough boost. Boost can take up to a few seconds to build,, so unlike a gasser vehicle,, ya can't just be rolling in 3rd gear,, And try to Get a Good rolling burnout,,, the Boost just can't build fast enough.

Once ya BOMB your truck,, that's a different story,, with Just an EZ Burnouts will be EZ'er :) The EZ fuels the truck before the Turbos spools all the way up.

Once you go off the Deep End with BOMBs,, that's a different story.

My Dually,, which once would only spin the tires slowly in 2nd after a donut,, will now "Light 'em up" in 4th gear from a complete stop (Depending on Pavement)

4th Gear, Redline,, Pop Clutch,, Watch the smoke,, and the speedo runs to 55MPH,, keep right foot planted and your hands on the wheel,, don't even try to wipe the smile off your face,, it is a futile attempt.

Have fun,, but don't say we didn't say ya could break somethin'

I went through the stock clutch, and TWO Dana 80 Diffs. Not to mention FOUR Michelin tires. (Dually)

Was it worth it? Oh Yeah,, next time yall see me,, I'll be "Lightin' 'em up" again.
