Have an 02, SLT. I'm having issues engaging/disengaging the factory alarm when using the key on the driver's side. The door will lock and unlock... just not disengage the alarm. I can turn the key back and forth a few times and some times that will do the trick so I figure there is a loose connection or something. No issues engaging/disengaging the alarm when using the key on passenger side. I don't carry the fob as I always seem to end up setting off the alarm, but I pulled them out and they'll turn on and shut off the alarm with no problem. The power door lock switches work great. I've tried my spare keys on the driver side and they don't help either. Has anybody had this problem? Thought I'd check before I tear into it.

thanks

Sounds like it may be the drivers side lock. Make sure both of the door jamb switches are working, they are input signals to the security system. I had one go bad and the seat belt wouldn't come out far enough to latch when I got in the truck. bg

BG,

Thanks for the input. The door jamb switches seem to work... at least the lights come on and go off when opening and closing the doors so I would assume any security function would be ok as well if just dependent on a functioning wire. I'll have to pull out the manual and see what I can find.

thanks
