O. k Guys I installed it a little over a year ago and it is SO corroded I think I am going to grab a spare. Only Anyone recognize it? heck if I can.

They all look pretty much the same... Mine is a Carter 4600, 7 psi - 100 gph as I recall - about $72 from Jegs...

A possible give-away on yours might be the black upper housing - I think that is model-specific to some Carter pumps

Here's my 4600...

Hey Gary on your pump where you can somewhat see the numbers on mine (Black housing) do yours represent any similarity.

I wanna replace the pump with the exact one I have however why mess with what works in terms of carter models.

I suppose I could call enterprise Engine and find out too huh?

Far as I can tell, Carter basically makes 2 models in terms of pressure, 16 psi and 6-9 psi - they make a couple of different 6-9 units, the 4600 which is good for 100 gph, and another that is good for 72 gph - both of those are free-flow ratings... I just ordered a second pump today from them myself, as I want to do some testing with bypassing to slightly reduce system pressure (I'm getting 25 psi total at the VP44), and to guarantee fuel flow in case the added pusher fails for any reason...

For more info, try:

www.jegs.com

and search on carter fuel pumps - and check their electric fuel pump listings... Good luck...

Can one of the inline30 - 40 PSI pumps that flow 100 gph be used or will that kill the lift pump or injector pump?

TIA

I'd be pretty leery of that high a PSI - I would prefer to keep my pressure down closer to a steady and reliable 16 PSI or so, regardless of load - that's why I ordered my second pump for experimenting...
