My brother works at a shop that makes carbon fiber race car parts and I asked him if he can make a piece to fill in the spot were the ashtray is to mount (2) 2inch gauges. He says this is possible but if he is going to make on he might as well make more. I am thinking that it will be able to hold 2 gauges and will look smooth and almost stock. If anyone would be interested let me know as he has not set anything up yet and does not want to do a lot of work is no one but me wants one. If this is the wrong place for this kind of thread I am sorry as I am new and don't know any better. Thanks.

Wanted: 98. 5-2000 2500 Quad, 4x4, LWB for less than $20. Oo.

One suggestion if your brother is making up some parts.....

To replace the cupholder panel with a custom gauge holder. It looks like it would hold 3 gauges nicely across the top (with room below for more) and they could be angled upwards for easy visibility.

I much prefer the 'cup smoothie' from Geno's Garage as a cupholder - putting a gauge panel in there would be great!

what years are you talking about? 94 to 97 or 98 to 02? I have a 97 and would be interested and also on the plate for the useless cup holders. :D

Ok here are a few things that I guess that I forgot to say the first time... . this will be for 98-2002 trucks. Sorry to the guys with older trucks:( ... maybe if this goes well we can make one for you. As far as making some out of something other than carbon fiber... I am not sure what he can do I will have to talk to him about it... I think you can paint the carbon fiber if you would like to. I am planing to have the gauges tilt up to the driver as much as possible. This gauge holder will be able to hold 2 gauges but I think when we ship them there will just be flat spots and you can drill the holes for one gauge or two if you would like. If you have any other questions pm me or keep asking them here. Thanks for your interest and it looks like we will get started on makeing a batch. :p

Since I have a stick I have that useless junk holder where most have a cup holder. That would be a killer spot like someone else mentioned.

If something could be made to hold like 3 gauges and a radio I'd buy it today.

Good idea for not putting the hole cut outs in. I'm going to have a pair of airpressure gauges for the airbags and I'm not sure what size they are. Anyone know?

Gauges coming soon

This weekend my brother and I will start building the moldes for the gauges. I talked to him last night and he should be able to turn out 3-4 a week untill we get a couple molds made and then it could be as high as 10-12 a week. Another thing I got firmed up was the price. This is a high labor deal so he says they will cost about $50. This is not what we think the market will bear but what it will cost him to build and produce them. It would not be much cheaper to build them out of anything else because most of the work is in making the mold perfect. I will keep you updated when we get the first one done and I will post a picture of it here and in the TDR Basement classifieds. Thanks for your support and keep telling me that you want them because the more people that want them the more molds we will build and the faster we can get them to you. :D
