I have not seen one, but I've wanted one and have thought about tapping the cargo light into the brake circuit. I second the question: anyone done this?

You could just put a red LED light in it and rewire it to the brake circuit. Wouldn't be very usefull as a cargo light anymore though.

Does the cargo light work like the dome light? It has constant power to it and the switch is on the ground side?

I almost never use the cargo light, so I wouldn't miss it. Plus, my assembly is so dirty/discolored that it's nearly useless anyway. But, we'd need to figure out a way to have both lights in there, preferably an LED or two on each side and cargo in the middle for symmetry.

I tried mine once to see if it worked... needless to say I would not miss it.

A brake ight would be usefull at least.

Any ideas, Jay? I wonder if we could modify the existing assembly to accommodate several LEDs, say, a triangle of LEDs on each side of the cargo light. The lens, if you will, looks big enough…

Looks like a good solution to me :) - I use my cargo light frequently and I find it works well for my needs. Think I'll try and find 2 red LEDs and 1 white - should be room in there for all three.
