Tribute to the fallen

Yeah, I've been pretty bummed about Carhartt going overseas. I wear their pants, bibs and winter jackets as I'm out in the field quite a bit and they are hands down the most durable and warm clothing available. I remember when I first started to notice the tags; first they said "Made in the USA", then "Made in Mexico with US components", now it's "Made in Nicaraguara". Can't say that I've noticed any difference in the quality, but it's just a mental thing that the work clothes that serve the American worker ought to be made by an American worker. Prolly someday it will change back around.

I have no Beef with a foreign company selling goods in the USA, as the USA does the same overseas, however for an American company to use oversea manufacturers make goods for them to sell in the USA, and have their USA name on them I try to avoid, such as Ford putting their name on a Mazda etc. Today the trouble is if one needs clothing, and just the necessaries of life its generally foreign, carrying an American named company.

Some blame Labor Unions for the loss of jobs meaning high wages, however in general a manufacturer cost of producing a product at 1/5 of consumer buying price. As a $1 cost of manufacturing eventually sold for $5.

Im sorry to hear this as most of my work clothes are Carhartt. If they last as long as the one's I now have no problem but sure and H the size wont be the same or the quality turns to crap ill be gone.

They try very hard to ensure that all of the parts & pieces are sourced in America.

New Balance shoes still have a Made in USA line. They are more expensive but still made here.

White's all leather boots are made in USA of USA sourced materials.

White's also makes the Hathorn Hi-Line, Hathorn, and Hathorn Explorer brands. The Hathorn Explorers are assembled in Spokane with offshore materials.

White's Pacs--the winter boot--are USA sourced leather and brass with a Made in China rubber lower sole. Per the president of White's boots, nobody makes that type of sole in the USA. Even Sorel's rubber outsoles are made in China now.

Have found these boots to be of great quality. Use the shorties around house and town and the lace up pac's for hunting. Foot has never been cold. I try to keep the home state working as much as possible because these are made in MT. Don't know about all the components but boots are made here

Now THATS some nice stuff!

Ya I like them the hunting boots are what I started out using never a blister or never get cold. And I have yet to ware them out during the hunting season im in them 24/7 just have several sets of the inserts. And the we call them shorties the pull on ones I like because in the spring or MUD season you can just hose them off and go. Never have tried their western boot I have a guy in Texas that has a mold of my size and I just call and send a check and he makes a new pair of boots

Schnee's are really nice, too. They use the same lower rubber as White's, comes from overseas.

Nothing against either brand, it's just really the only place to get those lowers anymore.

I love my White's and Hathorns!
