How are you guys cleaning and maintaining your Alcoa wheels on a regular basis?

Especially when washing your truck, trying to get in between eight lugs? The factory wheels had a nice center hub to hide the lugs.
Additionally, does anyone know how to install the Stainless Steel center without getting scratched? Its such a tight fit. .
I have new centers, but I don't want to use them till I figure out how to get em in the wheels without scratches.

The way I do it is wet the tires and wheels, then spray full strength simple green on them heavily, then while thats soaking in, I get a bucket of hot water with dawn dishwashing soap and a long bristle brush. I then dip the brush in the bucket and brush them down and immediately hit them with a full rinse. They come out very bright and shiny, like new. If they are still hazy, I go over them once with the Never-Dull polish wadding.

I then put a good coat of mothers polish on them.

I do this once every 2 months. After you get the oxidation off, and get a polish on them, they will come clean with a blast at the car wash.

I'm going to weigh in from maybe a little different perspective. I'm a recovering street rodder and have been around expensive billet aluminum wheels from different manufacturers such as Boyds, Colorado Custom, etc.

I've tried EVERY flippin metal polish on the market, and stumbled on this stuff at the Portland Roadster Show a couple of years ago. www.hollywoods1.com

Polishing wheels is too labor intensive. All of the products, whether paste or liquid take too much work to get them off. Hollywoods goes on very easy and comes off with practically no effort..... cut my time by two-thirds. Beautiful shine, and lasts as long as any other product..... I do my wheels about once a month.

If you want to maintain a high level of shine/care, but don't want to spend more than an hour total on all four wheels, I highly recommend this stuff.

It is very hard to find retail, and it's priced higher than the other major brands. I would pay twice what they are asking.

Oh yeah, I've got no connection to this company. Good luck.
