My go to Tractor needs some new sneakers before work really starts
Goodyear 13.6/28 tires are whats on it, looking at the Carlisle offering is not to bad in price, some of other BIG NAME brands are out of control expensive. If I was a full time farmer it might be different but this is just feeding my face and keeping weeds & grass from taking over. Having never really bought tractor tires I don't know what to stay away from or not???

BIG, You got 7000 acres, what do you want with such a puny tractor for You better cash er in for some fuel money for a 9000 series or something similar that's actually capable of handling the maintenance of so much land.

Its 6800 acres and I've mentioned that the biggest percentage of its leased to Corporate Farmers for growing MY PAYMENTS on it, its not a real difficult concept even for me to understand so the educated inept should be able to follow along.

I like old tractors because of their simplicity & the fact that they can be had reasonably so if an old uneducated guy like me wanted I could eventually have one for each day of the week OR each task on the property. The people who farm the land have some pretty big fuel bills I would imagine when a Co-Alliance fuel truck comes out to the fields to fill them up. The only maintenance for me is to answer the phone and find out what gate they need open & when. Thats if I don't have my hands full of old tractor parts or grease but as you know theres a new feature on my Smart Phone VOICE CALL. Right now I'm kind of hurting so I'm just doing my rehab exercises getting fat a pinching the wifes xxx as often as possible

If your doing much rough bush hogging make sure you get the heavier 10 ply tires. Have you checked Titan tires? I believe Good Year sold their agricultural line to Titan. Have you checked Firestone? They make nice ag tires.

BKT tires are beginning to get a foothold around here. They’re an Indian company that’s begun to enter the North American market. The small tire shops that cater to farm and forestry claim they’ve had no problems with them. I have no personal experience, just relaying what I’ve been told.

Big, I replaced the front tires on my MF 1428 compact tractor. Got em (Carlisle) on ebay a few years ago and had local corner tire shop fo $10 each.

Firestone, Goodyear, Michelin are close to a grand a piece locally.

I looked at Titan & Carlisle in town close to 300 each

all of them are brought to the house and installed which I really appreciate being in the shape I'm in.

I'm very lucky. The owner of the farm just down the road runs a tractor tire business. Anything you need he can get at decent prices. Just haul it out to PA and he will take care of you......

went to the Doctor yesterday Penny & I stopped to take a look at the above tractor. I WISH I DID HAVE SOMEONE CLOSE I haven't bought to many tractor tires and even then they were used tires

Daughter & I have been thinking about planting our own Alfalfa Hay for our horses & my cattle Indiana sucks in that respect the Alfalfa they have here is terrible, if we did something like the above tractor would be nice

Those are some good work horses as long as they're not pushed too hard and allowed to use their weight and gearing to do the work. From what I've seen, the big cam was used in those tractors. I've seen farmers have the pumps modified and turn the wick up which the engine will hold ok - the power shift - not so well .

OH Yes!! we still have the Montana Home, several family members are still running the cattle business. Our home is being lived in by the Doctor that did most of my knee surgeries after she also was fed up with Californias B.S. and moved.

I was going back this year to hunt but with these posterior hip replacements I don't think sitting a saddle is going to happen or be in my best interest for a while. First replacement is doing better than I had expected, the pain is nowhere near that of a knee replacement. Have a chance to go in Wednesday Next to have the left hip done.

I was talking to a guy in the Barbershop in town No!! its not Floyd's in Mayberry, about the Carlisle tires he said for a Simi-city farmer like me they'd probably be marginally OK but for any real work they just don't hold up.

Big, when my 5030 (62 hp) Ford NH needed fresh 16.9-30 meats, my local tire guru recommended Titans. I haven't been disappointed in them. I've had some Carlisles on a small utility trailer that came apart in about 3 years

Titan dealer called and is coming out today, they gave me a quote of $345 per tire Rear & $85 per front. Rear will be filled with their recommended Rim Guard as ballast AKA Beet Juice ?????
