Damn, when you break something, you don't mess around !! How many miles were on it? So, that was one of the 3 flows that stuck open?

Motor Removal

So does the factory just go straight up and down with the hood removed and drop the motor in?

I find it harsh that you have to cut the front of the frame like that to pull the motor.

Wow, that sucks. It really makes me worry about modding my truck.

Modding has nothing to do with it. Tsterner just rebuilt an 06 that did the same thing (only it was #6 piston). It was totally stock with just over 140k miles. Gotta love the common rail injector, full of tiny parts all built by the lowest bidder.

The piece that a lot of people cut is actually part for the body- rad core support. But if you look at the service manual it will show you how they do it with out cutting or removing that piece. The manual shows some special lifting blocks that give you clearence from the fire wall. But you have to remove the back injector and both rocker arms for #6.

When I pulled to motor I had no problem clearing the bar because I had the head off already and it gave me the room I needed. But when I reinstalled the motor I ended up removing the oil pan and pick up tube and then reinstalling them just before I set the motor in the mounts. It made me feel much better than cutting up my truck! Also I guess you could just take the front clip off the truck!

, THE BEARINGS HAVE 62,000 AND THE PISTONS AND CYLINDER HEAD HAVE ABOUT 5500-6000 MILES, IM NOT SCARED TO BREAK IT, BUT IM TIRED OF WORKING ON IT ALL THE TIME, HOW MUCH CAN YOU BORE THE BLOCK, ITS STANDARD RIGHT NOW, YES IT WAS A THREE FLOW, I HAVE LOST TWO THREE FLOWS SO I DONT KNOW WHOS INJECTORS I WILL RUN NOW, THEY NEED TO BE RELIABLE, I HAVE A FASS AND THEY STILL FAIL WITH THE RACOR FILTER, I ALSO NEED CP-3s OR A SINGLE CP-3 THAT IS GOING TO DELIVER WHAT IS PROMISED, THE SET UP I HAVE HAS BEEN WAY TOO FINICKY AND NOT RELIABLE AT ALL, TWO MOTORS IN LESS THAN TWELVE MONTHS, IM NOT HAPPY AND THE LOCAL D-MAX BOYS ARE PASSING ME, I NEED A SPONSOR OR TEN, I NEED PISTONS, PINS MAIN AND ROD AND CAM BEARINGS, A NEW CAMSHAFT AND A SET OF INJECTORS WITH ENOUGH FUEL TO USE THEM, VENDORS OUT THERE, LETS TALK BUISINESS, I CAN PUT YOUR NAME OUT THERE, WHEN THE TRUCK IS DELIVERING I GO TO ALOT OF EVENTS AND I TELL EXACTLY WHAT IM RUNNING AND WHO TO GO TO. ,... ... #@$%!

someone needs to come up with a flow limiter valve that will work with our engines. . 6 flow limiters and 6 new hp lines would be needed, but it would save an engine from meltdown. . only draw back with flow limiters is that the high HP guys won't like them as they do limit flow, but could probably be calibrated to meet X amount of fuel flow needed for X amount of hp. .

for those that know how a delievery valve work, the flow limiter works similar, but in reverse

wouldnt 6 pyros be cheaper? just an idea... you could wire up a little computer to monitor the mv output, and signal an alarm when one cyl was over a set temp... hmm or wouldnt that help in this situation?

You would think that with all the other crap that DC has programmed into the ECM thay they could come up with some sort of fail safe that would let the let the ECM know that it has an injector hung open. I am no programmer by any means but surely If they can write a program to fire the injector over 20 times ber second then the can come up with something to determine that it is stuck open and put the engine in limp mode.
