OOOhh Yeah... I wear a helmet now. :-laf

Vehicle was operated for an extended period in 4HI mode on dry

surface, driveline torque load may cause difficulty. :-laf

Off topic, but since I'm headed out the door for Pismo, thought I'd see if you were going to make it?

You win. I give up. It is Phil's truck though, right?

Slept at Holiday Inn last night

Photo indicates shear of rear drive train, no damage or deformation of front drive train assembly indicated in photo. Photo suggests that front drive train is in normal motion, rear drive train shear indicates catastrophic failure. I would suggest that rear drive train torque transmitted exceeded factory recommendations. Possible indications of this failure are as follows: you left your brakes on during a self service car wash, you argued with a cop and pulled the backside off a tow truck off, you were a "watch what this does" when frat boys hook a chain up to your rear axle or winched out with via the tire wrap method, my theory... is you were going forward, truck bounced up... somebody rear ended you or forced objects into you, stopped rotation of rear drive train and sheared the thingie you have in photo. I have no idea what I see in this picture but I have seen it when I extract lego blocks, stuffed animals, and pool toys out of my lawn mower.

Ashton,

Well Put!

Greg

Hey greg, any more word on this. Seems weird. were you in the truck when it happened or just word from the customer. I drive hwy 38 almost everyday and use 4hi tons and never had a problem. If you were not in the truck it looks like some wanted to test there kore and stuffed the front shaft in. Now I've done that before out in glamis, hit the whoops to fast ans too short of splines in the front shaft anf bam, case in half just like your pic.
