When you open the door and look down at the rocker panel/carpet... what is that metal strip called that holds the carpet in place against the rocker panel panels (sill plate).

Mine are corroded and I'd like to replace them if possible. Or else make custom new ones. I doubt they are even available new.

I'm pretty sure they are called "sill" plates. I bought some 2" x 1/8" thick aluminum stock at Home Depot to put in mine, then never used it. I just let the mat lay there. Not real high on the priority list. ;)

I removed the driver side sill when I bought my truck years ago. Makes it easy to mop up the water that collects under the mat.

I used to have a slant-six 4x4, 69 as I remember, and its floor boards were rusted out so am very careful with my "new" truck.

My floors are fine. I went ahead and epoxy coated them, then installed a new black full vinyl floor kit from Auto Custom Carpets. Worth the $200. Its nice although it does require some edge trimming to make perfect. The mold was perfect. Every little factory shape was duplicated. I didn't use the foam mat however. I'm going with the foil backed heat/sound deadener stuff. Its thin and molds perfectly to the floor shape. That foam they provide looks like somebody tried to stuff a pillow under the thing.
