Carrier bearing, or lack there of.

Just wondering if anyone else out there in TDR land has had their carrier bearings self destruct. Mine only lasted 38,000 some odd miles. Dealer said that there have been several updates to the bearing, so hopefully this one lasts longer than the last one. We will see.

I got all of 45,000 out mine and 3 u joints gone with it. There's a "Launch Shutter" tsb on it having to do with angles and degrees, result is they shim the carrier down basically.

Mine went bye-bye at 55K. It wasn't at fault. A misassembled factory u-joint was. Needle impressions in the cap, and the center joint still made it 55K. Launch shudder disappeared with the new joint.

The one on my 01. 5 went out at 1000 miles. No problems with the 04. 5.
