Carrier bearing ????

Do all 2wd have the carrier bearing? I have the carrier bearing on my short bed but it is 2wd, So are all 2wd's supplied with a carrier bearing and only the 4wd short wheel base have no carrier bearing?



Or is my truck just a freak of nature?

The reason that the 4wd short bed would not have a carrier bearing is that with the addition of the transfer case the length of the driveline is short enough not to require the carrier bearing.

Funny my 99 gasser 2wd short bed quad cab had no carrier bearing, go figure

My 2007 4wd, regular cab, long bed doesn't have a carrier bearing. Sounds like some are having shudder problems with them so I'm just as happy to not have it!
