Five Speed Automatic Envy?

First EPA, Now CARB?

Is Case dropping the CDC 5. 9 in favor of the New Holland 7. 5 in their midrange tractors? All the new specs that I see don't appear to include the 5. 9. Seems like only AGCO is still using the 5. 9. Maybe a response to keep up with Deere, but I liked the high-output 5. 9, could hold its own against bigger engines in its class.

Agco 5.9 use

And how long will it be before Agco switches over to all CAT engines? I think I read somewhere that many of their tractors have CAT now.

Who builds the Ford/New Holland engines? Is it Perkins? Neighbors newer Ford tractors run really nice - smooth, quiet, and he has been very well satisfied.

As for Case dropping the 5. 9, I don't know. I haven't been around many Case loaders and the such, just John Deere.

The Ford/Case IH/New Holland (whatever you want to call them) that I have seen run the Cummins in their higher PTO horsepower tractors. As for some of the smaller NA engines, I'm not sure who makes them.

on TLC last wednesday, on the monster machine show, they had a short segment on the new holland t425 [iirc?] that was powered by a 15 liter cummins. just a derated sig. 600 i think [n14?]

Perkins is now owned by Cat. CAa bought them , because Perkins was in financial trouble, and it was easier to buy a company that produces smaller diesiels , then to develop their own line. This info was from a cat rep I interviewed with

And AGCO bought the challanger line of tractors from CAT and is using CAT engines in them as part of the contract. I wouldnt doubt AGCO changes over completly to cat so they dont have multiple engine brands for the same rating tractor.

And the sig 600 is a 15L engine. Its a QSX in non semi applicatins.
