Can someone explain IN DETAIL and step by step how to adjust caster on an 01. 5 4x4? I've had it to the alignment shop twice and would like to avoid the $50/pop if possible. First trip was to set to 3. 2/3. 5 second trip was 4. 2/4. 5. Truck pulls left and would like to get a little more caster with less cross caster. Truck still has two indexing marks to go towards the front. Thanks BigSur

Caster curiousity?

Curious about the adjustment procedure also.

Does the vehicle need to be on a lift without weight on the front end?

And what do the notches represent? Degrees or just reference points?

Do a search for the alignment specs and procedure. There is a complete write up on how to do it and the tolerances. It was posted a few years ago. One thing I do remember is that the caster has to be the same on both sides. Mine was not and I changed it so that both indexes are the same. That almost took care of the slight pull I had. New tires completely fixed it.

The washer with the pointer is indexed to the bolt, it really is as simple as marking the location of the pointer, loosening the nuts and turning the bolts so the pointers move forward. I do them one at a time, not both at once and go about one mark at a time until it drives like I want. Too much will result in heavy steering. To little will cause a lack of directional stability, sort of a mushy feel in the center and slow return to center of the steering wheel.

There are pictures of the adjusters in post # 27 in this thread: Kore install pics

Wow, can't believe how easy that sounds ... loosen the nut and turn the bolt.

Does anyone know how many degrees are represented by the indexing marks?

Thanks for the assistance! :D
