Caster adjustment.

I have a caster question. How do you read what degree your caster is set to, and what is the procedure to adjust it? I’ve just finished installing the Kore Chase system on the front end of my truck and I want to set the caster to 4. 5* positive. Is this something that can be done in the driveway or am I better off taking it to the dealer?

Thanks.

I did mine in the driveway. It is very simple. However... I had death wobble before and after changing it. I then took the truck to a trusted alignment shop. That cost me $360, and I now have death wobble worse than ever before.

I'm starting to trust noone but myself to do quality work.

The proper equipment is two crescent wrenches and a torque wrench with proper socket. Takes all of 10 minutes.

I went in, asked for an alignment and as much positive caster as possible. I left with a fabtech dual steering stabilizer (that I didn't ask for or authorize), and no alignment. They claimed to have inspected everything under the front end, and found it all to be in spec. They tightened up some slack in the steering, installed the stabilizer, and called it "cured". That was Friday. Heck raising starts today...

Agreed. I should have been more clear. Although I didn't say that the alignment was $360, my wording did give the impression that I paid $360 for an alignment. I called the guy this morning, he is going to look further into the problem free of charge.
