ROFLMAO
Gene, you're too much.
How about if I mix up a cocktail with some ATF, some gear lube (each of the three kinds I have), some engine oil, and maybe even some #2 diesel. Then I could use the same thing everywhere, and when I change fuel filters, add some to the canister for luck?
LOL
I guess we have about exhausted this topic. On to other wars!
Thanks for the input, folks!

We all have opinions on things and some of us are willing to bomb everything and some aren't. It also sound to me like Joe would use AmsOil if it where in his Garage(in stock) I should have slipped some in there while he wasn't looking... LOL

I started doing AmsOil way back when I was a teenager. I started with there 2 cycle oil in my dirt bikes and it was my top secret HP advantage. I was kind of hold offish by there Multi marketing way of doing things. But I truely believe that AmsOil Ser. 2000 is as good if not alot better than the OE Castrol Syntorq. I don't belive any of the the auto makers have our interested in mind when they design anything. They want you to come back and buy a new one right as you pay off the old one. The Cummins is an exception to this but is the NV4500? I say no or they would have fix the 1/2 spline on 5th right after the first couple of years. This is JMO.

Gene, you outa come out to Las Vegas and visit Joe. I got quite the education from him while I was there. He has enough parts in stock to bomb at least half of all of TDR. I had never seen any 160 or 175 HP torque plates of the #10 for that matter.

Joe, I think you would have to say I agree to disagree with you on this just as we do on air filters.

Oh one other thing if you get to close to Joe and Sickly you catch a very deep case of BOMBAHALICs. He got to me so back I'm looking for a used head to port so that my truck isn't such a puppy to Sickly.

Drawson,
Joe just may get a slight education from ME!

I'm sure Sickly is awesome, but I hung out with,(remove hats please), Dave Mitchell all summer at the truck pulls.
He is WELL beyond 510 hp with no drugs.
I have been BOMBed slightly, but the old common sense has stopped me at this point. I need two trucks, one to play, one to get good mileage.
I believe that punk Stacked and Jacked is at the 500hp level. Joe needs to catch up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes, Vegas in my list, been there, but spent most of my time up in Reno. Love the State.
I wonder what Joe will say next?

Gene

I replace my 5sp at 150K due to several 5th gear losses. Old trans pulled very hard with most all miles in 5th and 120K of those miles running Series 2000 Amsoil. See this link for more info:
https://www.turbodieselregister.com/ubb//Forum1/HTML/001574.html

Ohio rebuild shop found no problems with this oil when they rebuilt transmission.

This is just one trans and only 150K miles. But it was enough for me to continue using Amsoil in this new trans with no worries.

BTW! Warrenty was not my concern. I just wanted the best lubricant to keep it on the road and making money!

Feel i best define piece's
Remember that little magnite on the end of fill plugs?
The other reason i remove the PTO cover(beside just for the peek) i installed a 4" mag on the side of the cover and any microscopic particals from a starting to deterate needel bearing, clutch pac spring,roller-bearing,are going to be where.
May have to put it under the kids microscope
but it is not still flowing around in the lube to cause more wear.
Could remove the PTO cover and install a filter kit but,?? wilthout the lube pump to send it thru the filter, the $'s don't calculate!! And does the job.
The pieces i look for are the starting point of a deteriation of metal componits.
Remember back in 96 my cover plate and owners book said ONLY there recommed lube will work. Hedge'd my ongoing expermient!
I don't know what the holding power of the mag is put it is a bear to slide off.
I also installed one to the stock rear diff cover also.
AND if you Think that the lube co. name on the container is the mfg/ refiner/blender/patent holder of the formualiton said of blend ,not!

About a year ago, a tech person at NV told me GL5 is fine in the NV4500 at normal temps and last week an analyst at CTC said the same thing. We were talking specifically about 2K 75w90! 2years ago a tech person at Dana told me the 2K 75w90 was the best stuff(of all 90 and 140's) they ever tested! It's been doing great in my diff and i'm going to put it in my 5sp. Craig
