15 degrees yesterday. We needed to drop the truck off last night at the dealer as the airbag finally came in. Truck had been setting since Sunday. Turned over just like it was summertime.

OT, but Mike, how long did you wait for the new airbag parts?

Not off topic for me, you know how I wander off the subject........:D

I believe that I stopped by with the truck just before going to Fryeburg Fair to have them look under the truck for the steering recall and to set up the air bag appointment. There were no parts in the pipeline at that time. That would have been the last week of September as I recall.

They called the house last Thursday and left a message telling me to leave the truck for today at 1.00 pm as the air bag kit had arrived.

So damn close to 2 full months.

The funny thing is that I have been ordering the same kit except it is for the Sterling Bullets. Those come in within a week. Go figure......:D

I'm thinking it's time to finally replace the batteries in my 03. These are something to consider.

BTW, the date code is not when they were made, but when you bought them. (for warranty)

The manufacturing date code is the round sticker "K5".
" K" is November, "5" is 2015.

The area in white is the purchase / warranty start date, that is done at point of sale.

The next time you go to Wal Mart stroll over to the battery rack. Look at the date code stickers and you will see old stock to the front. New stuff is in behind. I am not bashful and will pull several Batteries out of the way to reach the fresh ones. And yes, unlike some Wal Mart shoppers I do put the others back.

Gents, this is the parts professional explaining the not so often practiced art of "rotating the stock".

I need to paint the raised "CAT" emblem yellow..........to complete the effect.....:D

mwilson,

I recommend fingernail paint. I'm sure that you can get it in Cat Yellow and it comes with its own brush.

Have fun.
