bypass oil filter, worth it?

Oil bypass in the age of Cj vs CI oil. Is it worth it.

My exhaust with 88K on it is about to rust through at the last bend just before it exits the truck. I don't suppose that's too bad for all those miles but my buddy has a cherry 06 with 22K (yea really!) that has never had to work hard in its life and his is completely rusted through in the same spot.
Why would the 06 go bad with such low miles? Has it got something to do with the cat?
Also, he's looking for a stock type SS replacement tail pipe. Anybody know where one can be purchased?

Thanks
Scott

That last bend has all the road debris strike, whether chemical or mechanical. I would believe that would have more of an adverse affect, than any added heat or chemical reaction that a cat would produce.

Diesel Power Products may have a stray SS tailpipe laying around, doubt that they would break up a system to supply a tailpipe separately, but may be worth a call. Would probably need to purchase a band clamp also, as the connection point will most likely be somewhat off of OEM.

More likely lack of use. That low mileage in that many years leaves a lot of time for moisture to accumulate in the low spots of the system. 345,000 miles on my truck, = 2 tail pipes,1 muffler, original down pipe.
