I am new to the world of diesels and still trying to soak up all the info that I keep running across.

The first thing I need help with is do any of the newer diesels have a cat on them?

I have seen exhaust systems advertized for trucks with and without the cat.

I am thinking of getting the Jardine full exhaust.

I have a 2002 2500 quad cab short bed on order. As soon as I get it I plan to add a Power Edge EZ, exhaust and gauges.

Thanks for the help

Bill, you do not have a catylitic convertor on your truck. There is a shop near you to get all you need, check them out http://www.performancediesel.net/. They will help you figure out what you want and in what order, first class guys. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info. I have talked to them before.

I am still trying to figure out what I want to do. I am thinking about the Banks System.

Very funny about the spark plugs.

Bill, check the threads about comparing the gains from a Banks system with the gains from a system pieced together, and the cost for both. Bang-for-the-buck seems to point towards a piecemeal approach. Personal choice is a big factor, as many will prefer using one vendor for their whole upgrade...

Any way you go, you'll LOVE the truck!

I don't know about the rest of the Nation but the trucks sold in California DO have a CAT. If that makes me have a banana or spark plugs so be it. If you did not get you truck in CA then you don't have one.

Thanks for the info. I guess I will find out for sure either tomorrow or early next week. I got an email from the dealer today saying that my truck would be on his lot no later than Monday.

That is one of the first things I plan to check. Might look a little funny crawling under the truck before doing the paper work but thats ok.

12V Yes....24V No Convertor!

Late Jan 94 12 on up all came with Cat Convertor. No 24V truck which started in Jan 98 has EVER came with a CAT covertor from the factory. The 24V engine met CARB (California special requirements) without a convertor.

You will find a resonator infront of the muffler on factory sytems. A resonator is not a convertor.

That might change with the new engine comming out soon but for now no convertors present.
