Hi im going to be putting stacks on my 96 2500 and im also going to be removing the cat and put in 4'' pipe from the turbo to the stacks. my question is will removing the cat cause more smoke i was hop[ing for maybe a little and if not what is the effects of removing the cat. also what kind of sound can i expect from straight piped stacks. thanks.

You will notice a little more smoke and it will definitely sound good. It's a bit louder in the cab, but that's not a bad thing, right?:D If you want even more smoke and some power, get a different cam plate and a set of injectors.

DPellegrin,

Are there other modifications to your engine? Fill in your truck profile so people can answer your questions.

If your engine is stock stacks and no cat shouldn't result in any more smoke than you see now.

i dont see any smoke now at all i have the cat on right now but no muffler and i havent done any engine mods yet
