propuller,

I have not been able to raise the rev limiter under load. I can fuel better up to 3. 2K but not above that.

nieters,

no need for a boost fooler with the MAD ECM. I've raised the boost limit. :)

Marco, in light of the newest ECM changes on the 04. 5, what kind of time frame do you think you'll be coming out with the MAD ECM for these trucks? I plan to get an '05, and I believe that the ECM is at the core of all the MPG issues, not to mention I probably wouldn't need a fueling box of any type with your ECM. Do you even plan to eventually produce a MAD ECM for the 600's and newer models as they're released? And, will this timeframe be affected greatly if VGT is introduced next year or the year thereafter (a lot more parameters to look at)? Thanks for sharing you knowledge with us "dumb folk" :)

I called Dodge parts today and they want 1500 for a new ECM. I also called Cummins Metropower to get a price on a re-man ECM, had to leave a message and I haven't heard back yet.

I checked with the source located by RBallard, AutoPartsGIANT.com. Their offer was to good to be true. They don't have ECM's for our trucks at all. $1500 from Dodge for an extra ECM to be re flashed makes this a little tricky to pull off.

just a bit of info, When I bought my ecm the match was perfect from an 01 etc auto to and 00 etc auto. p/n match and ecm numbers match

I just want no one to get ripped by a bad match. When I spoke to doug origanlly is was stated year and transmission specific.

Marco may be able to put a better answer on here, but last, I read read he "said" clear as mud.

My ecm matched my stock ecm letter for letter.

I will only state my experience with my ecm swap. and it was year and transmission specific. :)

Just to clear up things a little more.

IF you're intrested in a ECM and want to get a spare. It's NOT important that you get the same year ECM for your truck. Any ECM can be used in any truck. I've tested it! What changes is the software inside. I can flash any software ( year/version ) into any ECM. Clear as mud?

It seems like clear mud to me. Any software into any ECM is what I read. There was an exact match to mine snached off the TDR classified this afternoon right before I got to it. This could get interesting.

ECM version is NOT impotant!

Any software into any ECM is what I read

That's it!

What I need to know exactly is in what truck it's going to work.

That's all. So you can just get A N Y ECM you can find.

Clear as mud? Oo.

Marco

Thanks for the clarification, Marco. I think the mud has settled out. My pockets aren't deep enough to get a new unit from the factory so I'm off to E-Bay to try my luck.

You guys ought not be bidding on the ECM so early in the game. Does nothing but run up the price to high.

Best procedure is to wait until almost quitting time. At 152. 50 it has already passed what I am willing to pay.

Marco,

How long is it going to take for a 3G ECM?

Yeah, Marco? :) I'm hoping not TOO long. It's worth just about any price to me to make my truck run like it SHOULD, without all the BS rules DC has to follow because of the EPA. My bet is that a 600 with the right ECM programming (which can control individual injection events :D ) will get as good or better MPG as any 2G or '03 did, especially with the eventual advent of VGT also under the ECM's control (less throttle required at the stoplights just to spool the turbo). I don't think it would be unreasonable to think we'd have a 400+ HP truck with 1000+ TQ and ~20+ MPG capabilities. All I'm sayin, Marco, is as soon as you get a working 3G/600 ECM, you're going to have a LOT of demand, given the latest EPA rules inhibiting these truck's potential. I'd be willing to spend $1500 on a new ECM (but I'll bet they'll be found cheaper as more 3G's get totalled) and whatever you're planning to charge. BTW, if you need a beta tester any time in the future, just let me know. :D
