i am with c4 here, i have an edge ez and all the normal upgrades (exhaust, intake, heavy foot) i have been following this catcher ecm deal, it sounds really interesting, but i would like to see a site telling prices and what to expect. how will this work with my EZ, and how much, any suggestions?

A member in albuquerque will be receiving his catcher ecm tomorrow, maybe you guys could get together sometime for a test drive :)

LO,

let me know what you think when you go for that ride... . With all of the feedback from everyone, i'm sure you will like but let me know! Thanks

the "other" truck also has mach 1. 5 edm's so it will be a bit different than stock, but you will really see the bottom end power and spool

How about the Catcher and cruise control. Weren't there some issues with it not wanting to run right with the cc engaged?

Mike

Mike, the cc issues had to do with getting the correct soft ware installed in the ECM. There are something like 12 different SW variations in 2001 alone. Once that was sorted out my truck runs very well on its electronic cruise control.

New Catcher

UPS is supposed to drop a box off today. I sold my EZ and after I removed it my truck was a sleeping dog. I don't get home until 8:00 tonight but that Catcher will be on before dinner. I will let you know what my thoughts are tomorrow.

You can take it for a spin and see what you think.

cant wait man, let me know i am really interested in how this goes, got some other questions too, you are ahead of me so maybe i can follow along. 505-263-5903

Bob, How often are shipments of these heading over the pond? And do you think there will be any delays because of the upcoming holiday?

Chris

Hey Luis,

Let me know when you go check out the catcher. Maybe I'll tag along to see what I can learn for our 02's.

Jeff

Guys I dont know what your state is like, but Jan 1 ,05 here in NY they are starting the new emissions testing here. It involves them plugging into your OBD2 diagnostic port and checking your OBD system for codes, and problems. I was going to get an ECM but not until i know ill get thru an emissions test. My comp box will be invisable to the emissions tester, just how i like it. If you guys have core ECMs out and cant swap them in ,this could be trouble. Just a heads up maybe Marco knows in advance if this will or will not be a problem. I dont know exactly what they are looking for when they go into our OBD system.

There is another batch headed over this week. It seem to be every 2-3 weeks between shipments.

Snowman, most guys out west have elected to keep the stock ecm for that very reason, better safe than sorry

Installation Complete

Catcher installed! Oo.

I must be getting old or they used a gorilla to torque the bolts holding it in place. It took me about 30 minutes including the elbow on the turbo. The engine was still hot but it was 25 degrees outside.

(First Impression) Works Great! Less Filling! You don't have to floor it to get it rolling. In town you only need to touch the pedal. Very smooth! Milage in town will definately go up. If I put my foot into it, the turbo lag feels about 30% of one with a stock ECM.

(Second Impression) After driving 125 mile to work this morning milage appears to be the same at 80mph. Climbing hills (6k to 8K) nice power increase, lower temps. It reminds me of my Austrailian Shepard, a lot of energy and just looking for any reason to jump and run. Th truck does not want to sit still or maybe it is just my foot. Nice Addition!
