call me call me call me i will be there for a test ride whenever you get a chance! my kids can stay at soccer practice and the wife can stand dinner getting cold! :-laf

So, with a catcher (decreased lag) you could run a larger turbo than you normally would want to (spool lag) with a stock ECM?

It seems you could add a larger turbo,BUT is it smokey when spooling up that fast? I can spool my turbos quick with the comp on subfueling level 5,but not on the street, its too smokey unless you roll into it and ease them up to speed. If it spools faster at the same smoke levels as before with out it sounds like a winner. :)

If you "stab" the go pedal with no boost going for you it will smoke. What happens is that you learn "roll" into it then floor it because the boost comes up quicker. I would expect with a lag pig turbo you are gonna smoke more than with a stock ECM if you stab it. Just my opinion tho as I run a realtively small turbo as you can see by my sig and I have no problems whatsoever.

Sorry for the ignorance, but you find an old ECM to send to Marco to get reprogrammed, plus pay for the upgrade? Old ECM $ plus reprogrammin $? What does the reprogramming/shipping cost?

Nevermind, I guess I should have stopped being lazy and looked it up!!!!

Hey Sno Man, I just went through the emissions test procedure. The first time I went with the caTCHER and my DD2 injectors and scored a 62% opacity rating (must be below 40% to pass in Washington State). The test was a snap throttle test, done by the testing clerk, not myself. Of course dumping fuel to WOT with zero boost will cause smoke. I went back two days later with the stock ECM hooked up, and wire tied in position. The DD2's remained installed. I passed with a 15% opacity rating. One hour later the caTCHER was back, and the EZ box re-installed!! :-laf :-laf

I purchased my caTCHER from Bob Wagner, and he made the smart recommendation to keep my factory ECM. I suggest you do the same.

I am all the government I need. :-laf :-laf
