Cause Of Pinging ?

I have a few questions and wonder if anyone else has any thought on this issue

1) what is the true cause on the 04. 5's ?

2) how has anyone who has had it eliminated it ?

3) will a box with timing affect it ?

4) are egt's on the cylinder/s higher ?

Mine did it when I 1st got it. Now it doesn't anymore. Possible solutions:



1) I got used to it and just don't hear it anymore.

2) I use Power Service fuel additive, and that my have helped.

3) It went away by itself.



Regardless, I don't think that the pinging is a sign of a problem. It's just different.
