Yes, I do use a remote speaker. I use a Am-Com ClearSpeech™-Speaker. It is a noice cancelling speaker. IMO it's the best mobile speaker available! I mounted the speaker just in back of the travel package on the ceiling. It works very good there. I also put a switch on it so if I'm on the phone and the speaker comes on, I can turn if off without messing with the radio.

Thanks Bob. I'll take a look at your setup next time you come over the mountain. I did look AM-Com up on Google, but your stated price is different than what they have posted. Did you purchase locally? If so, where?

I installed a K-40 roof mount on my '03. Used a magnetic mount for a few months and it worked well just not great. Finally took the plunge and drilled the roof Out put and reception where greatly improved. Still haven't found a good place to mount the radio & amplifier. Also had to use a speaker due to the radio just sitting against the seat. Overall I wish I had drilled the hole from the beggining. I haul 5ers quite often and have found that I still have good output and recieve without putting a antenna on the 5er.

Hey Bob, do you think it'd be worth the money to go from the cobra noise cancelling ext. I have now to the Clear Speech model? I drive hot-shot so i'm on the radio alot and clarity is pretty important. I currently am running a Cobra 29 NW ST LE with Wilson 2000 T (matched) mounted on top of the headache rack on my flatbed with add. frame ground.

I have to be honest, I have never tried the cobra noise cancelling speaker. I can tell you that I have done a lot of research and read a lot of reviews and supposedly, for a mobile noise cancelling speaker, the ClearSpeech is suppose to be the best!
