Hello,

I have a 2002 Dodge Ram HO Cummins Turbo Diesel Quad Cab Shortbed 6 speed manual truck, and I have a question. I'm installing a CB into it, have CB antenna mounted on my truck box in the bed. I would like to route the CB coax into the cab without having to go thru the door jams.

Can someone tell me where to route the CB coax through, so I can get it from my pickup bed and into my cab?

Thanks,

Keith

It is a 4x4. I figured I left something out. I was kinda hoping to hear there would be a rubber plug for wiring, like there is in the firewall on must trucks.

Air, you can run it through the Rubber plug. It's a bit of a PITA because you are running something so large through the plug.

I've also been told (but haven't played with) a rubber plug down near the base of the cab between the box and the cab. You'd have to remove the back paneling to get to the access, but it would be a clean install.

Keith,

My '95 has a hole in the floorboard filled with an aluminum "plug" or "cap". It's @ 1. 5"X1", covered by the carpet, and it's almost directly in front of the driver's side left front seat mount. It's covered inside by some kind of paper or fiber material that's been painted. I cut the fiber material inside and drove the plug out from underneath the cab. I then ground off one corner of the plug, just enough for the coax, ran it through and replaced the plug and sealed it with silicone. Ran the coax under the carpet and up the A-pillar to my CB which is mounted to the overhead console. Pics are in my "Reader's Rigs Gallery".

Exactly how I have ran ALL of my CB/scanner/cellphone antenna leads in my newer dodge rams...

Just use a Fire Stik stainless hood mount and go thru a rubber gromet in

firewall. Oo.

If your coax is not premade (have the CB connector already on it), there is enough room to run it thru the hole in the fire wall near the fuse panel and you can run it up the frame following the fuel lines and rear electrical, I've got a 102" whip mounted on my service body and that's how I ran all of my coax leads for my CB, scanner, Fire Dept. radio. If you get any noise there is a TSB out for earlier trucks, see if there is one that will apply to yours. Good Luck
