Is there anyone with a 3rd gen that wires his CB so the ignition switch will shut off the CB. Due to the lack of time, leaving on vacation, I wired it hot like the instructions said. Since the wiring under the dash is so neatly stuffed away, I figured someone may have located a good source to do this.

Thanks

Just got mine done toda. . errr yesterday and used the hot for the cig lighter. Its very accessible when you pull the dash off. The red is hot and the other color is grnd. Also wired in a light for the lighter and used the terminals for the lighter.

Interestingly, the wires are there for the pass airbag shut-off. Thinking about it... but I used that panel for my brake controller (like it near the pass for emergencies) for the trailer. The wires were just long enuff (old controller from the y2k) after installing the panel that I would have to disconnect the controller before pulling th panel (such is life!!!).

Using the cig lighter it works in both acc and run switch positions. Added the fuzzy buster to the ckt here also. Would like the fuzzy on a run only ckt and may move it later.

SOTSU!

I wonder how easy it would be to put a switch in for the passenger airbad disable? It would be a nice feature.

Thanks, the lighter is what I was thinking about using, but I never had time to look and see how to get to the back of the lighter.

I spent all day working on my trailer, we are leaving for Utah saturday morning, so it will have to wait until I get back.

I have all sorts of electronics and an air compressor/switch/guage under the flip up middle seat. The power goes out under the center console and up the dash, one line sneaks out to under the hood, but the switched and unswitched 10 Amp power comes from the cig lighters and is very easy to reach.

Remove the ONE screw in the trash bag holder recess, and snap off the dash, it's obvious from there.

Looks like it would be super easy as all the wiring for the switch is plugged into a dummy connector thats located on the back of the fascia around the radio. It was obviously designed to add the switch but my idiot dealer had no idea how to get the parts.
