How do I use my exhaust brake?

91 Towing Capacity

The truckers use the cb and they seem to have the lingo for talking on the CB. Here's what I know from listening... Please add to the list if I missed anything...

Smokey=Highway Patrol or Police

County Mounty= County or Local Police

White Rabbit=Dept. of Transportation Police or Motorcycle Cop

Smokey Bear= Highway Patrol or Police

Yard line= The mile marker on the highway i. e. 40 yard line= 40mm

Alligator= A blown out tire tread on the highway or in a lane.

Anybody got your ears on?= Is anyone listening out there

Breaker= The person who says breaker ususally wants to talk or has priority over a conversation becuase they have something important to say. Breaker is usually followed by the channel they are using. I. e. Breaker 1 9

Radio Check=A person who wants to start a conversation... usually heard around truck stops.

Lot lizards= A person at a truck stop who sells merchandise to truckers at a "discounted price" If you ever seen the lizard sticker with a circle and a / (slash thru the circle with a lizard) that means that they don't want to be solicited at the truck stops.

Another good standby is using channel 19 for east/west travel and channel 17 for north/south travel.

If you are asking someone about smokeys, just ask the opposite side of the road about the smokeys. i. e. you are headed westbound, you want to ask the eastbound about the smokeys they might of saw.

Feel free to add to the list

:)

A quick question..

Years ago I heard that using a Linear (CB amplifier?) was illegal. Is this true?

Haven't heard anybody saying breaker in a long time. Have you noticed that a LOT of truckers use a fake southern accent on the CB? Why is that? Their idea of Cool?

LOL, you hear all kinds of acronyms for SWIFT. My personal favorite is Swift backwards - Two fags in a white semi! Hehe, sorry if any of Swift's team drivers are reading. :-laf

As for linears being illegal - technically anything over 4 watts is illegal according to the FCC. A decent peak and tune on any radio will put you well over that and most linears will give you another 100 watts and beyond.

Its easy to do, stick two marbles in your mouth with a chew... tennnfooreee :-laf

Haven't seen "seat covers" yet. What you see when you look into a vehicle with a babe inside (male or female depending on your personal preference... . )! How about "Polish Highway"? That's the one for a rough stretch of road where they must have put the smooth side down. "Keep the smooth side down and the sunny side up" for drive safely. Can't think of anymore at this minute.....

"Look! Its a bird, its a plane, its JB Hunt in the hammer lane!!" :-laf You know its a bad day when there is a JB hunt truck in the fast lane.

"Keep the shiney side up and the greasy side down. "

I'll shake the trees, you rake the leaves"... Means let's drive fast, I'll find the bears and you collect em!

Everybody needs to listen to the song "Convoy", by C. W. Mcall maybe? Then practice what you learn. :D

Michael... ... aka Country Boy ;)

"Bear in the air" ..... is a cop on radar in a plane

"Comic book"... . Log book
